Tung Koon Paak
Tung Koon Paak is a Chinese domestic pigeon name commonly associated with Dongguan in Guangdong; the Cantonese-derived name is often interpreted as Dongguan white. It is generally treated as a regional utility or multipurpose pigeon rather than a highly ornamental fancy breed. As the name suggests, white plumage is an important identifying point, though translated names and local strains can make exact standards difficult to compare outside Chinese-speaking pigeon circles. Like all domestic pigeons, it belongs to Columba livia and shares the species' strong pair bond and homing instinct at the loft level.
Where Tung Koon Paak pigeons are kept for squab or farm use, breeders tend to value fertility, parent feeding, body size, and reliable production more than show refinements. Clean nest bowls, dry flooring, and a consistent grain ration with grit and calcium are important because productive pairs spend much of the year rearing young. In small hobby lofts, the same birds can be kept as calm white pigeons, but buyers should ask whether a line has been selected for meat, color, or general hardiness. White pigeons also need secure housing, as they are conspicuous to predators when flown.
