Usbekian Tumbler
The Usbekian tumbler, more commonly called the Uzbek tumbler, is a Central Asian domestic pigeon from Uzbekistan and neighboring pigeon-keeping traditions. It belongs to a large family of ornamental and flying tumblers with rich color variety, feathered feet, crests, and in some lines very short beaks. Uzbek tumblers may be plain-headed, forelocked, nasal-crested, or double-crested depending on strain and local preference.
Care depends strongly on whether the birds are flying or show-bred. Muffed feet need dry floors and perches that do not shred feathers, while heavily crested birds should be checked for clear vision and parasites around the head. Short-faced exhibition pairs may need closer supervision when feeding newly hatched squabs. Flying strains need patient training, safe weather, and predator protection, not the same management as birds kept only in pens. Buyers should ask about the line's purpose before assuming a show bird will perform in the air.
