Zitterhall
Zitterhall is an uncommon German-named fancy pigeon label, often treated in English lists as a rare or localized domestic pigeon variety. The name is associated with the idea of trembling or quivering carriage in older pigeon-fancy vocabulary, which links it to the broader group of ornamental breeds selected for posture and movement as well as plumage. As with all domestic pigeons, it belongs to Columba livia, but its exact standard may depend on the country or club describing it.
Because documentation is thin, prospective keepers should verify whether birds sold as Zitterhall come from an established strain and what trait is actually being selected. A controlled quiver in a show bird should not be confused with illness, chilling, neurological trouble, or stress, so calm observation and basic health screening are important. Housing should be quiet, dry, and easy to clean, with perches that let birds rest securely. Breeding decisions should favor strong feeding behavior, fertility, and normal coordination ahead of exaggeration.
