Porcellio haasi

Porcellio haasi is a large Spanish woodlouse with paired yellow markings on a brown background and pale yellow edges. It is kept in several named lines, including High Yellow and the Bardenas locality. Large males have conspicuous flattened rear appendages. Captive colonies need a ventilated enclosure with dry shelters and a smaller damp retreat, rather than uniformly wet substrate. Decaying leaves, wood, calcium and modest protein supplements support the colony. Females release young from a brood pouch.
