Porcellio incanus
Porcellio incanus
Porcellio incanus is a gray to brown woodlouse recorded from the Iberian Peninsula, the Balearic Islands and southern France. It uses wooded habitats and sheltered cave entrances, avoiding excessively dry places. Some populations have a more granular surface than others. Specialist cultures use leaf-rich substrate, decaying wood and a moisture gradient with protected damp retreats. Females keep eggs and developing offspring in a pouch beneath the body, then release live young.
