Porcellio nicklesi
Porcellio nicklesi
Porcellio nicklesi is a Spanish woodlouse formerly treated as a form of Porcellio bolivari. Specialist cultures include softly colored, translucent orange animals as well as named lines. It cannot roll into a tight ball, instead using cover and crevices for protection. Colonies need ventilated housing with several dry shelters and a protected moist area. Decaying leaves and wood, calcium and supplemental food support the culture. Females release live young from a brood pouch beneath the body.
