Porcellio silvestrii
Porcellio silvestrii
Porcellio silvestrii is a Spanish woodlouse maintained for its adult color differences. Mature males in captive stock have an orange-brown body with a darker head and rear section, while females are gray. It cannot roll into a tight ball. Captive colonies need leaf litter and bark, ventilation and a gradient from a moist retreat to dry shelters. Calcium and occasional supplemental food support growth. Females carry developing offspring in a pouch beneath the body and release live young.
