Ecuador Olive Gray Tree Tarantula
Psalmopoeus ecclesiasticus
The Ecuador olive gray tree tarantula is a brown, tree-dwelling spider recorded from northwestern Ecuador and Colombia. Its carapace has an olive-yellow sheen, the legs are mouse brown and the grayish abdomen carries dark bristles. Similar Psalmopoeus require anatomical identification, not just a trade label. Experienced keepers provide a secure, ventilated vertical enclosure with bark retreats, substrate and water. Avoid handling this fast spider. Females lay eggs in a silk sac.
