The psychedelic earth tiger tarantula is an Indian burrowing species with a blue sheen on its dark head and abdomen. Large adult females are darker than the pinkish young. Older records use Haploclastus devamatha or Thrigmopoeus psychedelicus; the World Spider Catalog places it in Cilantica.
Experienced keepers provide secure, ventilated housing with deep, moisture-retaining substrate, a sheltered retreat and drinking water. Avoid waterlogged conditions and frequent disturbance. Feed appropriately sized insects and do not handle it. Females lay eggs in a silk sac.
