The pumpkin patch tarantula is a small Colombian species known for orange markings on a dark abdomen. It has often been sold as Hapalopus sp. Colombia, especially the larger pumpkin patch trade stock. Keep breeder records rather than assume that every similarly labeled spider has been identified. Provide secure, ventilated ground-level housing with substrate, a retreat, web anchors and drinking water. Offer suitably small insects and avoid handling this quick spider. Females lay eggs in a silk sac.
