Ranitomeya flavovittata
Ranitomeya flavovittata
This tiny poison frog comes from the Peruvian Amazon and is bred by specialist hobbyists. The Quebrada Blanco form shown has two yellow side stripes and broken yellow marks along a black back, with pale blue-gray, black-patterned limbs. Breeders use humid planted terrariums with tiny insects and water-filled breeding sites. Females lay small egg clutches, and adults carry tadpoles to water. Its broken back markings differ from the rounded yellow spots of Vanzolini's poison frog.
