Mixed Morph
A mixed morph Rankin's dragon is a captive Pogona henrylawsoni whose ancestry includes more than one color or pattern line. Rankin's dragons, also called Lawson's dragons, are small Australian agamid lizards related to bearded dragons but usually shorter-bodied and less heavily built. In this species, morph terminology is not as formal or wide-ranging as in central bearded dragons, so a mixed morph may simply show blended tan, brown, yellow, or orange traits rather than a named genetic combination.
Keepers should treat the morph label as secondary to correct species identification and sound captive breeding. Rankin's dragons need a bright, dry enclosure with strong UVB, a safe basking zone, and a cooler retreat so they can regulate body temperature. Diet is based on appropriately sized insects with plant matter offered as they mature. When buying or pairing mixed-morph animals, ask whether the parents were Rankin's dragons rather than hybrids, and avoid breeding animals with poor structure, chronic lethargy, or feeding problems.
