Ecuadorian Red Bloom Tarantula
Pamphobeteus vespertinus
The Ecuadorian red bloom tarantula is a species from Ecuador's northwestern Andean slopes, originally described from an adult male near Nanegalito. Despite its hobby name, confirmed specimens' live colors remain undocumented, and some captive spiders sold under this name may be other Pamphobeteus.
The portrait illustrates unverified trade-label material; expert identification and collection history matter. A secure, low terrestrial enclosure needs deep substrate, a retreat and water. Avoid irritating abdominal hairs. As in other tarantulas, females lay eggs in silk sacs.
