Reinwardt's Flying Frog
Rhacophorus reinwardtii
This green gliding treefrog is currently recognized from Java, with older mainland and Bornean records assigned to other species. Specialist hobbyists and zoos maintain it in tall planted enclosures with branches, cover, clean water and varied insect prey. It lays eggs in foam nests above water, where the tadpoles develop after hatching. Extensive dark webbing between the fingers and toes helps it glide. Its webbing and skin folds distinguish it from the commonly sold four-lined treefrog.
