Sunfire
The sunfire reticulated python is a brightening morph of Python reticulatus that often gives the snake a cleaner, warmer, more golden appearance than a normal retic. Many sunfires show reduced dark edging, lighter sides, and a more open pattern, although the strength of the look varies by line. It became popular because it works well as a base gene in combination animals, especially with albino, tiger, platinum, phantom, and other color or pattern morphs.
A sunfire retic is still a reticulated python first. It needs secure caging, a warm basking area with a cooler retreat, and humidity high enough to support normal shedding without making the enclosure wet and stagnant. Feeding response in retics can be strong, so keepers should use consistent routines and avoid casual handling around food. When shopping for a sunfire, compare the animal to its clutchmates and ask about adult size background; the morph can improve color, but it does not create a smaller or less powerful snake.
