Rustic Leaf Roach
Rhabdoblatta rustica
The rustic leaf roach is a moisture-loving Rhabdoblatta kept by specialist breeders. Adults have muted, earthy colors, while young roaches are gray-green and shelter together under cover. Captive colonies need moist organic substrate, ventilation and a continuing supply of decaying leaves and other food. Females retain their egg cases and release live young. This captive stock was reidentified as Rhabdoblatta rustica in 2021 and was previously called the Taiwanese leaf roach.
