Satin Millipede
Telodeinopus assiniensis
The satin millipede is a tropical African millipede kept and bred by specialist invertebrate keepers. Its smooth brown cylindrical trunk has narrow pale ring margins and numerous pale legs, with two leg pairs on most rings. Captives need a deep layer of moist, well-ventilated humus, decaying hardwood and leaf litter. This substrate is food as well as a place to burrow and molt; fruit and vegetables are supplements. Provide secure cover and avoid heating beneath the soil. Females lay eggs in the substrate.
