Cameroon
Cameroon sheep are small West African hair sheep often linked with Cameroon Dwarf or Djallonke-type stock in European and hobby settings. They are usually kept for meat, smallholder grazing, education, or ornamental flocks rather than wool, since the hair coat reduces the need for shearing. Their appeal comes from manageable size, color variation, and adaptation to warm, parasite-challenging environments in many lines.
Care should still be grounded in ordinary sheep management: secure fencing, minerals formulated for sheep, hoof checks, and sensible control of internal parasites. In cooler or wetter regions, shelter and dry footing matter because tropical adaptation does not remove the need for good husbandry. Buyers should check whether animals are registered, pure Cameroon type, or simply small hair sheep sold under a familiar regional name.
