Damani

Damani sheep are a Pakistani thin-tailed breed associated especially with parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the Dera Ismail Khan and Bannu areas. They are small to medium sheep, commonly with a white body, darker or tan head markings, and coarse wool, and they are used for meat, wool, and some milk.

Because Damani sheep are not a fat-tailed type, they fit different management expectations from nearby fat-tail breeds. Flocks are generally selected for local adaptation, workable udders, and reliable lamb production under village or mixed farming systems where grazing, crop residues, and seasonal supplemental feed may all be part of the ration. The most useful animals are usually those already proven in the same heat, feed, and flock routine, so local performance matters more than polish.

Colors: Badgerface, Black, Blackbelly, Broken, Brown, Gray, Grey, Gulmoget, Katmoget, Moorit, Piebald, Red, Roan, Silver, Solid, Spotted, Tan, White, White with Black Points, White with Brown Points
