Cebouillet
Debouillet refers to a fine-wool range sheep associated with Debouillet breeding, a United States type developed from Delaine Merino and Rambouillet ancestry. The sheep are medium-sized, white-fleeced, and selected for fine wool while retaining enough body and stamina for arid or semi-arid range conditions.
In practical flocks, the emphasis is on fleece quality, sound mouths, longevity, and ewes that can raise lambs without losing wool value. Buyers should expect a wool sheep rather than a heavy meat terminal breed, and should ask about fiber diameter, staple, fleece weight, and adaptation to the flock's local range. Rams are typically chosen for wool traits and range durability, not just size at sale time, and mature ewe soundness remains a major test.
