Gromark
Gromark sheep are an Australian dual-purpose composite developed for wool and prime lamb production. The breed was built from established meat and wool genetics rather than from a single old landrace, so its identity is tied to practical farm performance. Gromarks are usually selected for maternal ability, fleece value, growth, and the ability to fit commercial pasture systems.
A Gromark flock should be assessed through production records: lambing percentage, lamb growth, wool cut, fleece quality, and ewe longevity. The breed can interest producers who want a self-replacing flock without moving entirely away from wool income. Buyers should ask what traits the breeder emphasizes, because composite breeds can drift when selection pressure is inconsistent.
