Hasht Nagri
Hasht Nagri sheep are a Pakistani mutton breed associated with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Peshawar valley. They are generally described as large-framed sheep kept for meat, with local preferences also influencing appearance and market value. Like many regional South Asian breeds, they may vary between flocks in fleece, tail, and head traits.
For practical management, Hasht Nagri sheep need feeding that supports frame and lamb growth without ignoring heat stress and foot health. Breeders should keep records on ewe fertility, lamb survival, mature weight, and sale weights because market appearance can otherwise dominate selection. Buyers should ask whether animals are from established Hasht Nagri lines or simply large local crossbreds.
