Moles

The Moles sheep name is little documented outside breed indexes, and it may refer to a local strain, an older regional label, or a spelling carried forward from limited records rather than a widely standardized breed. For that reason, animals described as Moles sheep should be understood as domestic sheep first and evaluated by their actual farm origin, body type, fleece or hair coat, horn status, tail type, and production history. There is no single internationally recognized description that reliably covers every animal sold under the name.

Keepers interested in Moles sheep should ask the source flock how the animals have been selected: meat, wool, low-input grazing, or simply local adaptation. Basic management follows the needs of the individual sheep, including suitable forage, shelter from wet weather and heat stress, hoof care, parasite control, and safe fencing. For breeding or conservation claims, written background and photographs of older flock animals are more valuable than the label alone, because the name is too thinly recorded to confirm type without context.
