Sira Poison Frog
Ranitomeya sirensis
The Sira poison frog occurs in Amazonian parts of Peru, Brazil and Bolivia and is bred by specialist hobbyists. The Divisoria morph shown has broad yellow back stripes, a black X and pale blue, black-spotted limbs; other forms may be almost solid red. Keepers provide humid planted terrariums, tiny insects and water-filled breeding sites. It lays eggs, and males move tadpoles to water. Older names Ranitomeya lamasi and R. biolat now belong to this variable species.
