Skeleton Leg Tarantula
Ephebopus murinus
The skeleton leg tarantula is a South American spider recognized by bold ivory stripes running along the knees and shins, especially the front legs. Adult females have a pale buff carapace and dark gray legs and abdomen. The markings differ from the narrow yellow knee rings of other Ephebopus.
Captive-bred animals are kept by tarantula hobbyists with deep substrate for a silk-lined burrow, a hide, ventilation and water. Keep it alone and avoid handling or defensive hairs. Females lay eggs in silk sacs; younger animals may use vegetation as retreats.
