Crossbred

A crossbred Spalding peafowl is a bird from the hybrid peafowl tradition that combines Indian blue peafowl and green peafowl ancestry, with additional mixed variety or percentage background. Spalding birds vary widely because breeders may select for different amounts of green peafowl influence, train quality, height, wing barring, neck color, and temperament. Crossbred is therefore a practical aviculture label, not a single standardized breed description.

Keepers should ask for parentage, hatch date, sex, and any notes on green percentage when those records exist. Spalding peafowl often require the same serious peafowl management as other large ornamental birds: secure pens, dry roosting areas, room for trains and display, careful introductions, and protection during severe weather. Because green peafowl ancestry can affect appearance and behavior, honest records help buyers understand what they are raising without overstating purity or conservation value.

Colors: Barred‑Wing, Black‑Shoulder, Pied, Silver Pied, White‑Eyed
