Spotted-Tailed Quoll
Dasyurus maculatus
The spotted-tailed quoll is an Australian carnivorous marsupial with pale spots across both its brown body and long tail. It hunts and scavenges, using hollow logs, rock crevices and other dens. Zoos keep it in secure enclosures with climbing structures, hiding places and careful breeding introductions. Females bear live young that develop attached to teats in the pouch. It is also called the tiger quoll; the spotted tail separates it from smaller quoll species.
