Stone Marten
Martes foina
The stone marten has a brown coat, pale nose and a white throat bib that often divides toward the forelegs. It lives across much of Europe and Asia, using rocky areas, woodland and buildings while eating small animals, fruit and other foods. Zoos provide secure climbing space, dens and foraging enrichment; females bear live kits. It is also called the beech marten. Its usual white bib and pale nose differ from the pine marten's yellowish bib and dark nose.
