Striped Sun Roach
Hemithyrsocera vittata
The striped sun roach is an active, colorful species maintained by specialist breeders. Adults have black wings with yellow sides, a yellow-rimmed head shield and bright white cerci. The young change appearance as they grow, including an ant-like early stage and a boldly marked later stage. Colonies need warmth, humid retreats, strong ventilation and reliable access to water and food. Females lay egg cases. All stages are fast climbers, and adults can fly.
