Peruvian Orange Stripe Tarantula
Lasiodorides striatus
The Peruvian orange stripe tarantula has a dark body, a copper-haired carapace with dark radial marks, copper leg stripes and orange abdominal hairs. The colors fade before a molt. A 2021 revision clarified its placement in Lasiodorides; color alone does not identify related species, so preserve breeder records. Experienced keepers provide secure, ventilated ground-level housing with substrate, a retreat and drinking water. Feed appropriately sized insects and avoid handling. Females lay eggs in silk sacs.
