Symploce morsei
Symploce morsei
Symploce morsei is a small yellow-brown cockroach from the Bahamas, Hispaniola, Florida and Cuba. Cuban records include animals under stones and leaf litter in coastal scrub and within bromeliads. It is maintained by specialist roach collectors rather than commonly sold as a pet. Adults resemble other small Symploce, and reliable identification uses fine abdominal and genital characters. Females produce egg cases. Captive housing should retain sheltered cover while allowing ventilation.
