Violet Tree Tarantula
Tapinauchenius cupreus
The violet tree tarantula is an arboreal species from Ecuador. Its sleek body can show violet or purple tones with a golden metallic overlay that changes with age and the molt cycle. Color overlaps other Tapinauchenius, so retain the scientific name and stock history. Experienced hobbyists provide a secure, well-ventilated vertical enclosure, bark tubes, substrate and water. It is exceptionally fast and lacks abdominal urticating hairs; avoid handling. Females lay eggs in silk sacs.
