Black Winged Bronze
The Black Winged Bronze is a bronze-patterned variety of domestic turkey, Meleagris gallopavo, rather than a separate wild form. It is associated with the dark, iridescent body color of Bronze turkeys but selected for darker wing plumage and less obvious pale wing barring than the standard Bronze pattern. The name appears most often in exhibition, hobby, or regional breeder contexts, so birds sold under it may range from a well-fixed color line to a small flock selection related to Bronze, Black, or other heritage varieties.
Flocks are managed like other non-commercial turkeys: poults need warmth and a high-protein starter, adults need dry roosting space, secure fencing, and room to exercise. Anyone buying hatching eggs or breeding stock should ask how true the color breeds and whether the birds are standard heritage type or broad-breasted meat stock. In a rare color line, fertility, leg soundness, and poult vigor matter more than preserving a dramatic wing color alone.
