Amazon Blue Bloom Tarantula

The Amazon blue bloom tarantula is a large, long-legged terrestrial spider from Venezuela. Hobby specimens have dark bodies with pink to purple highlights; these colors overlap with Xenesthis immanis and do not prove identity. A 2023 revision clarified the species using adult reproductive anatomy. Experienced hobbyists provide a spacious, low enclosure with deep substrate, a hide and water. Its abdominal hairs can irritate skin and eyes, so avoid handling. Females lay eggs in a silk sac.
