Amazon Sapphire Pink Toe Tarantula
Ybyrapora diversipes
The Amazon sapphire pink toe tarantula is native to Atlantic rainforest in Bahia, Brazil, despite its Amazon trade name. Adults have a golden-haired brown carapace, green-blue iridescence on the legs and conspicuous orange stripes along the last two leg segments. The dark abdomen has brownish side areas.
Hobbyists keep this arboreal species singly with upright bark, space for a silk retreat, fresh water and good ventilation. Avoid handling and contact with defensive hairs. Females lay eggs in a silk sac. It was formerly Avicularia diversipes.
