Zebra Roach
Eurycotis decipiens
The zebra roach is a colorful Eurycotis maintained in specialist colonies. Its pattern changes as it grows: young roaches begin dark, pass through an orange stage and later develop contrasting zebra-like markings. Captive colonies use warmth, humid shelters, moist substrate, ventilation and varied food. Females lay egg cases. This species is an effective climber at every stage, so a fitted lid and secure enclosure edges are needed. Adults are flightless.
