Paradox
A paradox ball python is not a standard inherited morph but a description for unexpected patches of color or pattern on an individual snake. A paradox mark might appear as a dark spot on an albino, a normal-colored patch on a pied, or an odd splash that does not match the animal's known genetics. These markings are usually thought to come from developmental events such as chimerism, somatic mutation, or unusual pigment distribution rather than a simple gene that can be paired and reproduced predictably.
Care is the same as for any ball python unless the individual also has another trait that affects husbandry. The main practical issue is expectation: a paradox animal should be bought for its own appearance, not as a reliable breeding tool. Breeders may document paradox offspring carefully, but repeatability is limited and offspring often do not inherit the same markings. As with any morph, feeding consistency, clean sheds, body condition, and transparent history should carry more weight than a dramatic patch of color.
