Kulangi
Kulangi, also spelled Kulang in some contexts, is a tall Asian gamefowl type associated with Central Asia and parts of South Asia. Mature birds tend to have long legs, hard feathering, a powerful frame, and a serious upright carriage. Compared with smaller game breeds, Kulangi often matures slowly and is selected for strength, stamina, balance, and mature male presence rather than egg output or ornamental softness.
Keeping Kulangi requires sturdy pens, space, and careful male management. Roosters can be assertive with other males, so experienced keepers often house mature birds separately and handle them with calm consistency. Breeding should favor sound legs, proportional weight, fertility, and manageable temperament rather than size alone. Because the name can cover several regional strains, buyers should ask where the line came from and what traits are being preserved. Young stock benefits from steady nutrition that supports joints instead of forcing rapid growth.
