Lushi
The Lushi chicken is a Chinese local breed associated with Lushi County in Henan. It is often discussed among native chickens valued for rusticity and egg production, and some lines are noted for tinted or blue-green egg shells. As with many regional chickens, the birds may not look identical across every flock, but the name connects them to a place-based population rather than to a commercial hybrid formula.
A Lushi flock is best managed with preservation in mind: keep enough unrelated breeders, select healthy hens and active males, and record shell color, hatchability, and growth so useful traits are not lost. Backyard owners should still manage them as ordinary chickens, with balanced feed, calcium for layers, clean water, shade, and safe night housing. Buyers interested in blue or green eggs should confirm the actual egg color of the source hens instead of relying only on the breed name.
