Taibai
The Taibai chicken is a Chinese local chicken name likely associated with Taibai County or the Taibai mountain area of Shaanxi. It should be understood as a regional native chicken rather than a globally standardized breed. Such birds are usually valued for adaptation to local terrain, household meat and egg use, and the survival traits that come from village selection over many generations.
For keepers, Taibai chickens should be evaluated by the source flock's real qualities: hardiness, fertility, laying, growth, and temperament. They need secure night housing, steady feed, clean water, and protection from severe weather. If the aim is breed preservation, keep records of origin and matings, and avoid mixing with unrelated chickens simply to change color or size. Regional Chinese breed names are meaningful only when the population history is maintained.
