Transylvanian Hemp-Spangled Naked-Neck
Transylvanian hemp-spangled naked-neck is a patterned variety of Naked Neck chicken associated with the Transylvanian type rather than a separate commercial hybrid. Like other naked-neck birds, it carries reduced feathering around the neck and upper breast, while the hemp-spangled wording points to a speckled, mottled, or flecked color impression over the body. The bird should read as a rustic farm fowl first: useful, heat-tolerant, and a little irregular between lines when compared with heavily standardized show breeds.
For flock use, the naked-neck trait can be practical as well as decorative, especially in warm climates or in systems where easier feather management matters. Birds still need shade, clean roosts, and shelter from sharp cold, because exposed skin does not remove normal chicken vulnerabilities. Breeders working with hemp-spangled stock should watch whether the pattern breeds consistently in their own line. Vigor, fertility, body balance, skin health, and steady laying are better priorities than novelty alone.
