Zhengyang Sanhuang
Zhengyang Sanhuang is a Chinese Sanhuang, or three-yellow, chicken associated with Zhengyang. Sanhuang chickens are commonly named for yellow feathering, yellow skin, and yellow shanks, traits valued in many Chinese table-bird markets. The Zhengyang name points to a local or regional population within that broader yellow chicken tradition, generally kept for meat quality, moderate size, and adaptation to village or semi-intensive production.
For farms, Zhengyang Sanhuang chickens are most useful when buyers want yellow-skinned birds with recognizable regional identity rather than anonymous commercial broilers. They may be raised in backyard, orchard, or small farm systems where forage, slower growth, and carcass character are part of the value. Breeders should watch for consistency in the three-yellow appearance, vigor, and body shape, because Sanhuang labels can include both conserved local stock and production crosses.
