Zwerg-Amrocks
Zwerg-Amrocks are the bantam version of the Amrocks, the German development of barred Plymouth Rock ancestry. They are compact, barred chickens with the utility look of the larger breed: broad body, steady temperament, and a tidy cuckoo-barred pattern. In many European contexts, the name points to a recognized bantam utility breed rather than a casual miniature of any barred chicken.
These bantams suit keepers who want the Amrocks appearance and practical nature in a smaller flock. They still need good feed, dry housing, and enough space to stay active, but they are easier to manage where large dual-purpose birds would be too heavy. Breeders should select for clean barring, correct body width, fertility, and calm handling. Because barred bantams can look similar across breeds, source and standard details matter when building a show or preservation pen.
