Bordoodle
A Bordoodle is a planned cross between a Border Collie and a Poodle, most often a standard or miniature Poodle depending on the size desired. It is an informal companion and sport-dog label rather than a standardized kennel-club breed, so appearance can vary widely. Some have loose curls, others have wavy or straighter coats, and colors may reflect either parent, including black, white markings, brown, parti patterns, or merle when present in the Border Collie line.
The cross is usually chosen for intelligence and trainability, but it is not a low-effort dog. Many need structured exercise, puzzle work, and early training to channel herding, chasing, or retrieving tendencies. Coat care ranges from moderate brushing to professional grooming, and no puppy should be assumed non-shedding. Buyers should ask for health testing on the parent dogs, including hips, eyes, and relevant DNA screening, rather than relying on the designer-breed name alone.
