Cavachon
The Cavachon is a small companion dog developed from the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the Bichon Frise. It is a crossbreed rather than a kennel-club purebred, so size, coat texture, and temperament can vary, even within one litter. Many adults are sturdy toy to small dogs with a soft wavy or curly coat, a rounded head, dark eyes, and a plumed tail. Common colors include white with apricot, cream, chestnut, black, or tricolor markings, reflecting both parent breeds. The name is sometimes used for first-generation crosses and sometimes for multigenerational lines.
Most Cavachons live as indoor family dogs and do best when they receive daily walks, play, and regular time with people. The coat usually needs brushing several times a week and professional trimming; low-shedding puppies can still mat and may still bother allergy-sensitive people. Buyers should ask for health testing appropriate to both parent breeds, especially Cavalier heart and eye screening, patella checks, and clear information on the parents. Good early socialization helps prevent shyness, clinginess, and nuisance barking in a small dog that is often very people-focused.
