Cavapoo
Cavapoo, also called Cavoodle in Australia and New Zealand, refers to a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle, usually toy or miniature. It is a popular companion cross rather than a standardized purebred, so adult size and coat type depend heavily on the parents and the generation. Some Cavapoos have loose waves, others tighter curls, and some shed more than buyers expect. Apricot, red, cream, black, parti-color, and tricolor coats are all seen, and the face often combines a spaniel-like softness with a Poodle-style coat.
A Cavapoo suits households that want an interactive house dog, not a low-maintenance ornament. Coats that look fluffy as puppies can mat close to the skin, so brushing, early grooming training, and regular clipping matter. Daily exercise, food-puzzle work, and basic obedience help channel their social, alert nature. Health claims should be checked carefully: crossbreeding does not remove Cavalier heart risk or Poodle eye, patella, and inherited disease concerns. Ask breeders about veterinary screening for both parents, not just coat generation labels such as F1 or F1b.
