Dalbo
Dalbo usually refers to the Dalbo dog or Dalbohund, an extinct Swedish farm and livestock guardian dog associated with Dalsland and nearby western Swedish districts. It is known mostly from historical descriptions rather than a surviving standardized population. The Dalbo was described as a large, strong, weather-hardy dog used to protect cattle and farmsteads at a time when wolves, bears, and human theft were real pressures on rural stock keeping.
No one can responsibly sell a pure Dalbo today unless a documented reconstruction effort is being discussed with clear disclosure. The name is most relevant to breed historians, museums, and people comparing old Scandinavian farm dogs with modern livestock guardian breeds. Anyone drawn to the Dalbo's role should evaluate living breeds or local working mixes for livestock experience, sound nerves, and suitability to the farm's climate, fencing, and predator pressure.
