Double Doodle
A double doodle is a mixed companion dog most often produced by crossing a Labradoodle with a Goldendoodle, bringing together Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever, and Poodle ancestry. Because it is a hybrid type rather than a standardized breed, size, coat, build, and temperament can differ widely between litters. Some have loose waves, others tight curls or a straighter retriever coat, and the same litter may contain dogs with very different shedding and grooming needs.
Families are usually drawn to double doodles for sociable retriever traits and the possibility of a lower-shedding coat, but no cross can guarantee an allergy-safe dog. Regular brushing and professional clipping are often necessary, especially when the coat is soft and dense. Training, exercise, and daily human contact matter as much as coat type. Sensible buyers ask about the actual parents, health testing for hips, elbows, eyes, and hearts, and whether the breeder can explain coat expectations honestly.
