Minipli
The minipli guinea pig has an abundant curly coat with corkscrew ringlets, a curly fringe and two rump rosettes. Its layered coat forms a rounded outline, with some curls standing upward, while the fringe covers the face without extending beyond the nose in an adult. The British Cavy Council promoted Minipli to a Guide Standard in January 2023 and updated its published standard in 2024. It remains a Guide Standard breed on the current Rare Varieties Cavy Club list, rather than a Full Standard or an unnamed novelty.
It is not a recognized cavy breed in ARBA's 2026 to 2030 Standard of Perfection. British guidance permits any colors or markings and asks for clean, unmatted curls that have not been brushed or combed out. The coat should feel soft and springy and have a dense, curly belly. The mature coat reaches an intermediate length rather than growing throughout life. Youngsters can look fuzzier before their ringlets develop.
