White Crested
The white crested guinea pig has a short, smooth coat and a single white rosette centered on the forehead. The crest should form a clear circular crown against the rest of the coat. In the ARBA show form, white belongs in the crest rather than elsewhere on the body. White Crested is recognized in ARBA's Standard of Perfection for 2026 to 2030. In Britain it is called American Crested and is standardized by the British Cavy Council. The current Crested Cavy Club page distinguishes that established breed from specified ticked American Crested varieties that remain New and Emerging.
The European standard includes the white crest form within Crested. It is different from English Crested, whose crest follows the body's color rather than requiring a white crown. British judges look for a deep, regular crest radiating from a pinpoint center. Check the intended show's variety rules when planning an entry.
